Hi, my name is Lucas White. I am the creator and maintainer of BBALLX.com. I created BBALLX.com in the Spring of 2002 and initially released it on May 17, 2002. This first release was only a prototype for the final version of the web site, which has now been realized.
After releasing the prototype in 2002, I worked for almost 1 and 1/2 years to create the finished product. My other work in life consumed a large portion of my time during this 1 and 1/2 years, and my ideas for this site kept growing. Therefore, due primarily to the former reason, the inordinate length of the production was necessary to finish the site.
The fully-functional and expansive BBALLX.com was released December 14, 2003. Hopefully, this final version realizes all of my goals that I had when I conceived this site.
BBALLX.com offers basketball fans a portal to all aspects of men and women's basketball with coverage ranging from high school to the pros. Besides going deeper, I hope that visitors will also find that BBALLX.com presents this coverage in an cutting-edge, exciting, and visually-pleasing manner. Hopefully, the appearance of the site and the way that the content is presented reflects a selection of the best web design techniques that I have learned over my 8 years of creating web sites.
Another primary goal was to allow BBALLX.com visitors to be a huge part of the creation of this basketball resource. To that end, I have added many interactive features that allows for user input, and I have arranged for that input to be displayed in prominent places throughout the site. Hopefully, this will allow us to hear a large variety of opinions and viewpoints. There isn't anything worse than reading an article that you disagree with and not having a chance to respond the writer or express your own viewpoint.
Finally, I mainly want for this site to be fun. That is what basketball is about anyway, and I hope that this site will promote that kind of attitude. I welcome you to visit BBALLX.com to interact with others like yourself who enjoy the game and want to be on top of the latest developments around the basketball world.
